  • Master titlesEvery profession at level 100 now earns a title of its own.

Level 100 crafters

Two copies in, one masterwork out

Reaching level 100 in a crafting profession makes you a master of that craft. Your crafts come out with perfect rolls, and you can combine two copies of the same item into one better copy: a Masterworked item, from +1 up to +5.

Perfect rolls

Equipment you craft in a profession at level 100 gets the best value of every line: every bonus at its maximum and every malus at its smallest. Below level 100 the lines roll as usual.

Masterworking

  • Result: the copy with the better stats is kept, with a level one higher; the other copy is used up. Two normal copies make a +1, two +1 copies a +2, and so on up to +5.
  • Same level only: both copies must have the same level, so a +1 and a +2 cannot be combined.
  • Which items: equipment that has a recipe in that profession. A Jeweller masterworks rings and amulets, a Tailor hats and cloaks... Your level counts for the whole account, like every profession.
  • When a combination is not possible, nothing is used up and a message says why.

  • At a Crusher

The Crusher of the smithmagus workshops (for example in Amakna at [-1,-2]) has a second option, Masterwork: a window with two slots. Put the two copies in and craft. Anyone can use it, but only a level 100 crafter of that item can masterwork it.

  • At your workbench

Open the workbench of the profession that crafts the item, put the two copies alone in the craft grid and craft.

Every level makes it stronger

Each masterwork level adds 5% of the maximum of each of the item's own bonuses, rounded up and at least +1 per level, on top of what the item rolled: +25% at +5. A Gobball Headgear crafted at level 100 has both of its lines at their maximum of 20:

A bonus with a maximum of 40 gets +2 / +4 / +6 / +8 / +10 at +1 to +5; a bonus with a maximum of 7 gets +1 / +2 / +3 / +4 / +5. AP, MP, range and summon bonuses, maluses and lines added by smithmagic are not boosted. The item window shows the boosted values; smithmagic still works on the item's own values.

How it looks in game

  • The level shows after the item's name: Gobball Headgear +3.
  • The category line of the item window reads (Category : Hat - Masterworked), and the effects list the boosted values.
  • Masterworked items trade, sell and bank like any other item. In the market each masterworked offer has its own price line, marked +N on its icon.
  • They keep their level through smithmagic and do not stack with copies of another level. Set bonuses are unchanged.

Adding AP, MP, range or summons to an item that does not have that line by nature now depends on the item's masterwork level: 1% on an ordinary item, 33% at +5. Every level roughly doubles your chance.

Gathering professions

More from every harvest

Gathering professions give +1% more resources for every 4 profession levels, and +10% more at level 100: +35% in total for a master.

Yield bonus by profession level: +5% at level 20, +15% at level 60, +24% at level 99 and +35% at level 100.
  • Who gets it: Lumberjack, Miner, Farmer, Alchemist, Fisherman, and Hunter for the meat you loot. It also counts for Active Fishing catches.
  • How it works: the bonus multiplies each harvest, after the level 100 +5. When the result has a fraction, the fraction is your chance of one more resource, so the average is exact.
  • Example: at level 100, Ash gives 6 to 27 before the bonus (16.5 on average) and 22.3 on average with it.
  • The Professions panel shows each skill's range with the bonus included.
  • The Frigost resources (Aspen, Snowdrop, Frosteez, Icefish) have no bonus.

Questions

FAQ

Which items can I masterwork?

Equipment that has a recipe in your crafting profession, once that profession is at level 100: a Jeweller masterworks rings and amulets, a Tailor hats and cloaks. Professions are shared by your account, so any of your characters can do it.

Can I combine a +1 with a +2?

No: both copies must have the same level. When a combination is not possible, nothing is used up and a message says why.

Are AP, MP and range boosted too?

No. The bonus applies to the item's own characteristic lines. AP, MP, range and summon bonuses, maluses and lines added by smithmagic are not boosted. Exotic AP, MP, range and summon lines get easier to add instead: up to 33% at +5.

Can I sell or trade masterworked items?

Yes, like any other item. In the market each masterworked offer has its own price line, marked +N on its icon, and copies of different levels never stack together.

Where can I read all the rules in game?

In the in-game Knowledge Base: the articles Masterworked gear, Harvesting, Professions on Astrub Legacy and Smithmagic: crushing and Perfect runes. The launcher updates your client automatically the next time you open it. Nothing to reinstall.
