Gobball Dungeon

Start a mutated run

Talk to the gatekeeper of the Gobball Dungeon and choose Mutated run. The answer shows this week's mutations, the four tiers and the rewards you can still earn this week.

  1. The group leader (or you, alone) talks to the gatekeeper and picks a tier.
  2. Every group member on the entrance map gets a popup to confirm the tier (30 seconds).
  3. Once everyone has confirmed, each player enters with their own key, as usual. Nobody is moved and no key is taken before that.
  • Every tier is open to everyone; the dungeon's recommended level stays 30.
  • Lost a room? Retry it as usual: your run, tier and mutations stay the same, even against the boss.
  • If the server restarts during a fight, that fight is lost as usual, but your mutated run continues.
  • Entering with a key without choosing Mutated run starts a normal run and ends the mutated one. A run left untouched for 7 days ends on its own.

Pick your challenge

Four tiers, from Stirring to Cataclysmic

The tier makes every monster of the dungeon tougher, adds mutations and raises the boss rewards. It is set when the run starts and never changes during it.

Tier 1: Stirring
1 mutation; monsters +10% HP, +5% damage; boss XP +5%; Marks ×1
Tier 2: Unstable
2 mutations; monsters +20% HP, +12% damage; boss XP +10%; Marks ×1.4
Tier 3: Corrupted
3 mutations; monsters +35% HP, +20% damage; boss XP +15%; Marks ×1.9
Tier 4: Cataclysmic
4 mutations; monsters +50% HP, +30% damage; boss XP +20%; Marks ×2.5

Each week the mutations are put in a new order: tier 1 has the first one, tier 2 adds the second, and tier 4 has all four. The lineup changes every Monday at 00:00 UTC; a run you already started keeps its own.

Four to start

The first four mutations

Each mutation gets stronger with the tier. The values below go from tier 1 to tier 4.

Ferocity

The dungeon's monsters hit players 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% harder with their direct attacks.

Granite Skin

The dungeon's monsters take 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% less direct damage from players. It is a rule of the dungeon and cannot be dispelled.

Escalation

From round 6, monster direct damage grows each round by 2 / 3 / 4 / 5%, up to 10 / 15 / 20 / 25%. Finish the fight before it drags on.

Cinderfall

From round 2, 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 cells near the players are marked for a round, then burn for the next round. End your turn on a burning cell and you lose 3 / 4 / 5 / 6% of your max HP.

Damage from mutations is capped: it can never take more than a fifth of your max HP during one of your turns. The monsters' own attacks are not affected by this cap.

Beat the boss

Bonus XP and Mutation Marks

Rewards come from the final boss fight. To earn them, you must have confirmed the tier at the entrance and be in the boss fight from its first turn to the victory; falling in battle is fine.

  • Bonus XP: the boss fight's XP goes up by the tier's bonus, +5% to +20%.
  • Mutation Marks: a new currency bound to your account. They cannot be traded, dropped or sold.
  • First clear: your first win of each tier each week pays double Marks. Later wins pay a quarter of the base (at least 1).
  • Weekly cap: 300 Marks per account per week (Monday to Sunday, UTC).
  • Click the Dungeon Mutations button next to the Haven Bag and Achievements buttons to see your Marks, this week's lineup and your current run.

This is only the beginning

The Gobball Dungeon is the first dungeon to mutate. More are on the way.

Questions

FAQ

Do I need a special key?

No. Each player uses the dungeon's normal key after the tier is confirmed.

What happens if we lose to the boss?

Retry it as usual. The run keeps its tier and mutations, and the rewards are still there to win.

What can I buy with Mutation Marks?

The Mark store opens in a later update. Every Mark you earn now stays on your account for it.

Do I need to reinstall?

The launcher updates your client automatically the next time you open it. Nothing to reinstall.
