Astrub Legacy

Pets

Pets on Astrub Legacy keep everything that makes them fun and drop the chores. There is no meal timer, no hunger and no overfeeding, you can feed a whole stack in one go, every pet grows 1.5 times as strong, and a pet can survive hundreds of lost fights.

What changed

The same Bow Meow, fed to the top in its best characteristic, in the original game and on Astrub Legacy.

Feeding

In the original game a pet had to be fed inside a time window: too soon and it got fat, too late and it got lean and weaker. On Astrub Legacy that is gone. Its state always reads Normal.

  1. Equip your pet

Food is given to the pet in your pet slot, as usual.

  2. Drop a whole stack on it

Drag a stack of its food onto the pet. It keeps eating, one food after another with no waiting, until that characteristic reaches its cap. Each food has a 12% chance to give +1; a food that does not is still eaten. The last increase stops exactly at the cap.

  3. Keep the leftovers

Food that would be wasted is not eaten: the rest of the stack stays in your inventory.

Example: a new Bow Meow and a stack of 1,250 Tofu Feathers (Agility food). The numbers are averages: each feather is a roll.

Eaten: about 1,000 feathers → Agility +120, the cap.

Left in your bag: about 250 feathers.

Your pet ate 1,000 of them and cannot gain more from this food; the rest stays in your inventory.

Caps and weights

Each pet has a budget of points shared by all its characteristics, and no characteristic can go above that budget. On Astrub Legacy the budget is ×1.5.

Some characteristics cost more of the budget, exactly as in the original game:

Budget cost of one point
CharacteristicCostBow Meow example (budget 160)
Strength, Intelligence, Chance, Agility, Vitality, Initiative, Pods, Prospecting…1up to +160
% Damage2up to +80%
Wisdom3up to +53
% Resistances4up to +40%
Damage, Heals8up to +20

Eupeoh bonus. A pet that drank its Eupeoh potion still gets +10% budget, on top of the 1.5× cap. Each single characteristic keeps the normal cap.

Life points

A pet no longer dies after a handful of bad fights.

Soul eaters

Soul eaters such as the Gobtubby grow from the monsters you defeat instead of food.

Gobtubby: kills per step, original → Astrub Legacy (+30 Vitality per step, up to 225)

Every pet

All feeding pets with their original and Astrub Legacy numbers. Search by pet, characteristic, food or monster.

A pet you get as a monster drop or a Boss Token prize can roll a rare look: Shiny (1 in 256), a colour variant of the pet, or Camo (1 in 128), where the pet takes its owner's colours. The look stays with the pet through trade, bank, ghost and certificate. Press Shiny under a pet to preview its variant.

Questions

Do I lose stats if I forget to feed my pet?

No. There is no hunger at all: a pet you haven't fed in months is exactly as strong as the day you left it.

My pet stopped eating. Why?

That characteristic has reached its cap, or the pet's budget is full. The food stays in your inventory and the game tells you the pet cannot gain more from it.

Do my old pets get the new caps?

Yes. The caps and gains are the server's rules, so every pet, old or new, can grow up to the 1.5× cap. A pet that grew past it under the earlier doubled caps keeps all its characteristics: it just cannot grow any further.

Does my soul eater need the last hit?

No. Everyone on the winning team who has an equipped soul eater gets every monster of the fight.
