Meet Registrar Pippa
Registrar Pippa keeps the ledger in the Pet Adventurers' Guild building next to the Astrub zaap at [4,-19]. Walk onto the sun in front of its door, by the orange tree with the banner, then talk to her inside and choose Open the guild ledger. There is no HUD button: the ledger opens through Pippa.
- In the Available tab, pick a region.
- Choose a pet from your bag. It must be alive and not equipped: unequip it first.
- Choose the characteristic it trains on the way, then press Send on expedition. The Active tab counts down its return.
- The expedition runs on its own: log out, play another character or go farming.
- When it is back, a chat line tells you (also at login), and the expedition waits in the Completed tab until you claim it.
- You start with one expedition at a time; a second slot opens after 25 claimed expeditions and a third after 100.
Ten regions
Where your pets can go
Longer trips pay more kamas, more resources from the region and more Expedition XP. The three island trips need a pet of Expedition Level 5 or more.
- Astrub Forest
- 1 h · 85% success
- Gobball Corner
- 2 h · 85% success
- Tofu Corner
- 2 h · 80% success
- Cania Plains
- 4 h · 70% success
- Sidimote Moors
- 6 h · 65% success
- The Borderlands
- 6 h · 65% success
- Moon Island
- 8 h · 55% success · Expedition Level 5+
- Wabbit Islands
- 8 h · 55% success · Expedition Level 5+
- Minotoror Island
- 12 h · 50% success · Expedition Level 5+
- Frigost
- 24 h · locked until team expeditions arrive
Rewards are kamas, existing resources and pet Expedition XP: expeditions never give combat power or character or profession XP. Claim in the Completed tab: your pet returns to your bag, and anything you cannot carry waits for you and is delivered later. Nothing ever expires.
Explorers in the making
Expedition Levels and traits
Every trip earns your pet Expedition XP, from level 1 to 20, through six ranks: Novice, Apprentice, Seasoned, Expert, Master and Legendary Explorer.
- Each Expedition Level adds +0.5% success, up to +10%.
- Each pet has a trait from its kind: Tracker, Scavenger, Explorer, Lucky, Guardian, Aquatic, Nocturnal or Mountainborn. Soul Eaters and legendary pets have two.
- A region that favours your pet's trait gives +5% success (an Explorer gets +2.5% everywhere else).
- Level and traits belong to the pet: they stay when you trade it or turn it into a kennel certificate and back, and they never change its fight bonuses. The Pets tab shows them all.
Feeding on the road
Train a stat while it travels
When you send a pet, choose one of its own characteristics (the ones its food or souls can raise). It comes back as if you had fed it: about 3 meals per hour of travel, with the same chance, gain, cap and weight limit as feeding it yourself, never more.
- A Soul Eater is credited with the souls of the monster that raises that characteristic instead.
- Pets with fixed bonuses, and characteristics already at their cap, cannot train: they only earn Expedition XP.
- The report shows the result, for example "Trained: +2 Agility (now 32 / cap 120)".
No risk
Your pet always comes back safe
While it is away, your pet is held safely by the Guild. It comes back as the very same pet: same life, feeding time, look and name. Only the characteristic you chose to train can change, exactly as the report says.
- A pet on an expedition cannot be equipped, fed, traded, sold, banked or sent twice, so nothing can happen to it by mistake.
- Legendary, shiny and camouflaged pets and Soul Eaters keep everything that makes them special.
- A failed expedition never harms your pet. It still brings back part of the Expedition XP, a small purse of kamas and one training meal.
More to come
The Guild has bigger plans
Later updates will take your pets further still.
- Team expeditions of 2 or 3 pets, opening the 24-hour expedition to Frigost.
- Explorer's Tokens earned on expeditions, and a shop to spend them in.
- Random events along the way.
- A Journal of your travels, with expedition achievements.
